Airport Marketing & Public Relation, "Telephone book advertising"

Pat,
I have been watching the replies from the various airports concerning the
yellow pages and I agree for the most part. I do however list in what we
call our Home Town Directory yellow pages with a quarter page ad that runs
us around $600 a year. The directory serves the East Kern Region of the
High Desert from Ridgecrest to Boron to Rosamond to Tehachappi and all
points in between. We list our services provided at the field which include
skydiving, soaring, RV park, maintenance, restaurant/banquet facilities
along with web site, phone, and fax. We find that it is money well spent in
our marketing sphere of 100 miles. Being the hub for informational calls
allows us to highlight our tenants and activities. We also gain the
reputation as user friendly and community oriented because no matter what
the nature of the call we will try and help connect to the right party. We
choose to this concept because of our size and the need for community
support as move forward with future projects.
I guess the bottom line is that if you have one directory that services your
sphere of influence it may be a wise investment in community relations both
now and in the future. All others take the free one line listing!
