CAA: Regulatory Update, "Part 107 Final Rule Published Today"

FAA Part 107 Security Regulation Released Today

As expected, the FAA has published Part 107 and Part 108 in the Federal
Register.  They appeared exactly as the advance copy of the rule with
exception of the listing of an effective date - November 14, 2001.

The rule as well as the Federal Register notices are available for

FAA will be issuing policy guidance to clarify both Parts 107 and 108
(carrier operations), which we will share with you as soon as it is
finalized. 
 
AAAE staff is currently in the process of finalizing one-day briefing
sessions on the rule to be conducted with FAA headquarters security staff.
We hope to conduct at least three workshops (one each in the Mid West and
on both coasts) beginning as early as mid-September.
