                    Duties :   Incumbent will serves as a Project Engineer
with the               
                    responsibility for administrating the Airport Grant
Program and including     
                    providing technical and administrative guidances for the
planning, design,    
                    construction, and rebalitation of airports in Southern
California and         
                    Arizona. Reviews and evaluates detailed plans and
specifications, engineers   
                    estimates,project schedules, project applications,
construction contracts,    
                    associated bonds, and engineering service contracts for
proposed airport      
                    development in conformance with FAA airport design,
construction and safety   
                    standards under the Airport Improvement Program.

                    Minimum Qualifications :  Basic Requirements: A. Degree:
professional         
                    engineering. To be acceptable, the curriculum must: (1)
be in a school of     
                    engineering with at least one curriculum accredited by
the Accreditation      
                    Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) as a
professional engineering     
                    curriculum; or (2) include differential and integral
calculus and courses     
                    (more advanced than first-year physics and chemistry) in
five of the          
                    following seven areas of engineering science or physics:
(a) statics,         
                    dynamics; (b) strength of materials (stress-strain
relationships); (c) fluid  
                    mechanics, hydraulics; (d) thermodynamics; (e)
electrical fields and          
                    circuits; (f) nature and properties of materials
(relating particle and       
                    aggregate structure to properties); and (g) any other
comparable area of      
                    fundamental engineering science or physics, such as
optics, heat transfer,    
                    soil mechanics, or electronics. OR B. Combination of
education and            
                    experience--college-level education, training, and/or
technical experience    
                    that furnished (1) a thorough knowledge of the physical
and mathematical      
                    sciences underlying professional engineering, and (2) a
good understanding,   
                    both theoretical and practical, of the engineering
sciences and techniques    
                    and their applications to one of the branches of
engineering. FV-G Candidates 
                    whose experience is used to meet the basic requirements
provision may qualify 
                    for this entry level OR superior academic achievement.
OR experience includes 
                    1 year of specialized experience. In such cases, the
specialized experience   
                    would have to be evaluated to determine if it is at the
appropriate grade     
                    level. FV-H 2 years of progressively higher level
graduate education leading  
                    to a master's degree or master's or equivalent graduate
degree. OR 1 year of  
                    specialized experience equivalent to at next lower pay
band level. FV-I 1     
                    year of specialized experience equivalent to at least
next lower pay band     
                    level.

                    Other Job Requirements : 1. 1.Professional knowledge of
and background in the 
                    engineering discipline.

                    2. 2.Ability to apply engineering principles, methods,
and techniques to      
                    identify and solve technical problems

                    3. 3.Ability to plan, organize, direct, and coordinate,
work.                 
                    4. 4.Ability to present clear and concise information
consistent with the     
                    targeted audience.

                    5. 5.Ability to prepare documents that clearly and
concisely explain

                    Key Requirements :

                          U.S. Citizen

                          Security Requirement:Appointment is subject to a
favorably adjudicated. 
                          A one-year probationary period may be required.

                          If selected, official college or university
transcript must be          
                          submitted.

 

                    AF-NATCA PAY PLAN: This position is covered by the
AF-NATCA Pay Plan          
                    Some, all, or none of the candidates may be interviewed.

                    Salary includes locality payment of 24.03%.

                    No PCS Expenses will be paid.

                    Promotion Potential: Applicants selected below journey
level mau be promoted  
                    non-competitively upon meeting all training and
qualification requirements,   
                    and upon recommendation by the supervisor.

                    Physical Requirement: This work is mostly sedentary;
however some walking,    
                    bending, and climbing are required.

                    Working Conditions: This work is mostly performed in an
office setting,       
                    however there is frequent travel with occasional
exposure to high temperature 
                    when performing airport inspections.

                    Security Requirement: Appointment is subject to a
favorably adjudicated       
                    personnel suitability investigation enabling the
issuance of a security       
                    clearance.
