Aviation Intern

RECRUITMENT DATES December 12, 2005 - December 30, 2005.

SALARY $15.07 - $22.41 hourly / $31,346 - $46,613 annualized.

EXPERIENCE Requires a bachelor's degree in airport/aviation management,
public administration, business administration, political science,
communication or other related degree. Additional requirements include: an
interest in the Aviation industry, a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0,
exceptional verbal and written communication skills, and strong problem
solving skills. An official transcript will be required during the interview

DUTIES The 18-month internship program provides real world experience in
operating and maintaining one of the busiest airports in the world. The
successful intern will receive extensive training and gain valuable Aviation
industry experience by completing administrative and operational projects in
the numerous divisions involved in operating Sky Harbor International
Airport. Currently there is one vacancy in the Aviation Department.

ALSO REQUIRED Some positions in this classification require the use of
personal or City vehicles on City business. Individuals must be physically
capable of operating the vehicles safely, possess an appropriate valid
Arizona driver's license, possess personal insurance coverage, and have an
acceptable driving record. All positions in the Aviation Department require
individuals to pass a Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) background check
prior to hire. Working irregular hours, shifts, weekends, holidays, and
evenings may be required. 

RESIDENCE Maricopa County residency is required within 24 months after the
date of hire and must be maintained.

EVALUATION Based on resume and cover letter. In your cover letter or resume,

cannot be reused.
