AIRPORT OPERATIONS AIDE
Salary Range: $12.38 - $14.59 hourly / $25,750 - $30,347 annualized.
Recruitment Dates: December 13, 2004 - December 17, 2004.
Education and experience which provides the ability to learn and utilize
public relations techniques as well as to complete a training course in
airport security methods, practices, and procedures. At least two years
previous experience with face-to-face customer service is highly desirable.
Other combinations of related experience and education that meet the minimum
requirements may be substituted.
All positions in this classification will require the use of personal or
City vehicles on City business. Individuals must be physically capable of
operating the vehicles safely, possess an appropriate valid Arizona driver's
license, possess personal insurance coverage, and have an acceptable driving
record. Working irregular hours, shifts, weekends, holidays, and evenings
may be required. Moving objects weighing up to 20 lbs. will be required.
Also requires the ability to work effectively with the public in stressful
situations and to work in environmental extremes such as heat, noise, air
pollution, dust, rain, etc. All Airport Operations Aide positions require
individuals to pass a Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) criminal history
records check prior to hire.
Performs a variety of field and clerical tasks associated with customer
service and passenger assistance, and airport safety and security at Sky
Harbor Airport. Typical types of duties may include vehicle/facility
inspections and enforcement of city codes and Federal Aviation
Administration (FAA) and Transportation Security Administration (TSA)
mandates. All positions have heavy contact with the public and are
frequently involved in conflict resolution. Vacancies are anticipated over
the life of this eligible (hiring) list.
Based on written exam. The written exam includes spelling, vocabulary,
reading comprehension, report writing, judgment/reasoning, customer service,
and procedures. Previous score cannot be reused.
The City of Phoenix supports a drug-free workplace. After an employment
