Auditor 

Eligible registers for those positions will be abolished and new
registers established as a result of these examinations.
 
Closing date for filing applications/resumes: Open Until Filled
 
Salary Range:  $41,553 - $66,484

Resources Department located on the fourth floor of the terminal.

examination.

AUDITOR
 
Job Purpose:
 
Under general direction of the President and CEO, performs professional
level audit work in conformance with financial policies and procedures.
Makes presentations to the Board of Commissioner's Audit Committee.
  
Essential Job Functions:
 
Reviews and develops financial policies and procedures; audits financial
records of selected tenants to ascertain fulfillment of their financial
and operational responsibilities; audits a variety of accounting and
financial and operation records requiring the application of
professional accounting and auditing principles; identifies and analyzes
inefficient practices while assessing alternatives which might yield
desired results; performs research to locate and summarize policies,
laws and ordinances to determine if the program being evaluated is in
compliance; coordinates review of records by state and federal auditors.
Uses computer to perform statistical analyses in the evaluation of data;
performs accounting duties as assigned.

Performs related work as required.

JOB STANDARDS
 
AUDITOR
 
June 1996
  
Education and Knowledge:
Any combination and education and experience equivalent to graduation
from college with major work in accounting.
 
Work Experience:
Three years experience in internal and external auditing performance
(CPA designation desirable).
 
Mental Skills:
Knowledge of the principles, practices and techniques of accounting and
auditing; knowledge of the techniques, tests and sampling methods
involved in conducting audits; ability to gather, analyze and evaluate
facts and to prepare concise oral and written reports.
 
Manual Skills:
Skilled in the use of office equipment, including calculators and
personal computers.
 
Physical Effort:
Usually seated at desk or table.
 
Working Conditions:
Good.
 
Safety of Others:
None.
 
Public Relations:
Ability to establish and maintain effective internal and external
working relationships.
 
Supervisory Skills:
None required.
