9 DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES/ ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Under general direction of the Airport Security Manager, coordinates
security matters with the Transportation Security
Administration (TSA), airlines, airport tenants, emergency relief
organizations and airport staff. Designs, plans and tests
response procedures to ensure the effective mobilization of protective,
safety and relief services for the airport in security related
emergencies or disasters. Reviews airport security programs, security
directives and airport tenant activities for compliance with airport and
federal regulations. Ensures security records are available for review
by the TSA (TSR Part 1542.5.b).
10 WORKING CONDITIONS
Performing these duties will involve: walking, standing and sitting for
extended periods; solving arithmetic and
numerical problems; speaking and writing effectively; observing and
differentiating details; adjusting to critical and
demanding work; visually observing and differentiating details;
attending to details amid distractions; adjusting to
interruptions and changes; working with a minimum of supervision;
operating city vehicles; being exposed to inclement
weather conditions; working in a hot, cold and noisy environment;
walking, standing and sitting for extended periods;
dealing with people in tense situations and working as a member of the
team. May be required to lift up to twenty (20)
pounds. Must be willing and available to work all shifts, including
rotation, weekends and holidays.
11 MINIMUM EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Requires a Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice, Law Enforcement,
Aviation Management, Airway Science, Business
or Public Administration or related field.
12 MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Five (5) years of professional experience in airport operations,
security, or safety; or administering provisions of TSR
Part 1542 at a medium or large hub airport are required. Directly
related professional experience in a lead or supervisory
capacity may be substituted for the education requirement.
13 MINIMUM LICENSE REQUIREMENTS
Valid Class C Texas driver's license and compliance with city's policy
on driving (AP 2-2).
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and/or PowerPoint.
15 SELECTION/SKILLS TEST REQUIRED Application review and/or interview.

17 SALARY INFORMATION
Factors used in determining the salary offered include the candidate's
qualifications as well as the pay rates of other
employees in this classification. The minimum to midpoint of this salary

$1,457.00 - $2,019.00 Biweekly $37,882.00 - $52,494.00 Annually
