Minimum Salary:     $39,550

Job Purpose:

 

Under general direction of the President will conduct a broad range of strategic management analysis for the Authority.  

 

 

Essential Job Functions:

 

Researches, analyzes and develops recommendations designed to improve the operational efficiency and effectiveness of the Authority.  Interviews employees, supervisors and other individuals that could assist in identifying operational problems such as staffing requirements, and departmental automated systems.  Responsible for reviewing and analyzing the operations of departments to improve efficiencies and effectiveness, and the development of departmental strategies that support the Authority’s long range strategic plans.  Periodically reviews revenue enhancement proposals to determine relevancy and consistency with the Authority’s long-term strategic plan.  Responsible for compiling, and analyzing various data and formulating detailed management analyses. Researches and analyses the aviation industry and makes recommendations related to revenue adjustments such as rate and fee structure modifications.

                                                              JOB STANDARDS

 

                                                      MANAGEMENT ANALYST

 

                                                                    March 2003

 

 

Education and Knowledge:

Graduation from a four-year college with major work in Business Administration, Management, Industrial Engineering or related field.  Graduate degree preferred.  Considerable knowledge of operational research, internal control systems, program evaluation techniques, accounting and financial principles, and systems development and implementation.  Knowledge of federal, state and local laws that regulate the aviation industry a plus.

 

Must possess a valid Tennessee Driver’s License; must possess and maintain a clear driving record; must maintain SIDA (Security Identification Display Area) and AOA (Airport Operations Area) clearance.

 

Work Experience:

Two (2) years experience in management or financial systems analysis, operational analysis, or performance auditing.   

 

Mental Skills:

Ability to analyze complex data, identify problems or opportunities for improvement, and present solutions clearly, logically and persuasively.  Must have the ability to communicate effectively orally, in writing, and utilize effective listening skills at all levels of the organization and external customers. 

 

Manual Skills:

Skilled in the use of office equipment, including calculators, personal computers and spreadsheet and accounting/financial software.

 

Physical Effort:

Usually seated at desk or table.

 

Working Conditions:

Good.

 

Safety of Others:

None.

 

Public Relations:

Ability to establish and maintain effective internal and external working relationships.

 

Supervisory Skills:

None required.
