Salary: $80,288.00 to $97,801.60
Job Description
Under general direction, performs work of considerable difficulty in
managing, directing, planning and organizing all functions and
responsibilities associated with the safe and secure operation of the
airport's Airside/Landside/Security and Communications or Common Use
Gate and Terminal Management Operations. These areas include all
public/employee parking facilities including a six-level garage; ground
transportation services; parking control and curbside traffic
management; aircraft movement and non-movement areas; with oversight
responsibility for coordination of emergency services, airport
certification; commercial, corporate and general aviation airside
activities; supervision of all airside construction projects, including
runways, taxiways and associated ramp/apron areas, air terminal gate
management, evaluation of Common Use Terminal and Gate Management
systems, the development and implementation of Common Use Gate Systems
and oversight of the daily operation and management of Common Use
Terminal and Gate Management systems and associated contracts, terminal
operations management, management of the Airport Communications Center,
and responsibility for Airport Security. Performs related work as
required.
Desirable Qualifications
Knowledge of current and proposed legislation as it affects airports and
air transportation in general, airport security and safety, and air carrier
operations; and Federal Aviation Administration and Public Utilities
Commission decisions and regulations. Ability to prepare and administer
an airport's operating budget. Ability to analyze and evaluate problems,
to make appropriate recommendations and to effect appropriate courses of
action. Ability to establish and maintain systems, procedures and records
designed to meet the complex demands of a variety of agencies. Knowledge of
the operations and management of a major airport, including FAR Parts 107,
139, and 77. Knowledge of the practices and procedures of all Airside,
Landside, Security and Communications, and Common Use Gate and Terminal
Operations Management activities and functions. Knowledge of financial
practices relating to an airport operating budget. Knowledge of effective
management, supervisory and negotiation principles and practices. Knowledge
of aviation and airport industry standards, policies, practices, standards
and rules. Ability to relate effectively with Federal agency employees, air
carrier employees, private aircraft operators, fellow employees and the air
traveling public.
Minimum Qualifications
Any combination of training and experience. Education: successful
completion
of advanced college coursework from an accredited college or university in
Aviation Management, Business Administration, Public Administration or a
closely related field. Experience: six years (6) of increasingly
responsible
professional analytical and management experience, including three (3)
years
of recent airport management experience at the level of an Airport
Operations
Superintendent. License: Possession of a valid State of California driver's
license. Background Check: Satisfactorily complete an FBI criminal history
records check prior to being considered for a position. Application
