Security Challenges

Just a heads up to airport readers, National Safe Skies Alliance is partnering with ACI-NA to allocate funds for the testing of security technology, systems, devices and processes at airports. 

An Advisory Panel for the Aviation Security System Integrated Support Testing Program (ASSIST) is forming to accept and consider problem statements from airports in the coming weeks. 

Acceptable statements will be required to meet certain guidelines, 1) Regulatory requirement in CFR 49 1542 , 2) Submitting airport must be willing to host and participate in study, 3) All submitting airports will receive results of study.

More news will be distributed in the coming weeks.

Subject: CAA: Mutual Help List, Special Events (NOT AIRSHOWS)

The City of Prescott is in the process of revising its "Special Events" permit 
process.  They want to include the airport, and are curious what other airports 
do with requests for a special event (i.e. Hangar party; EAA Fly-in; Business 
Open House with access to aircraft).  We are particularly interested in those 
airports that have Commercial Air Service, with more than 50 passenger seats TSA 
Index III.  Thanks in advance for your assistance!
