Mutual Help List, Commercial Activity in T-Hangars

Title: Commercial Activity in T-Hangars
Mario,

We have a couple of commercial tenants in T-hangars they must provide the County required insurance as any commercial operator would. We charge a fee depending on the type of operation (it must be aviation related) and the hangar rental is increased to a fair market commercial rate.  If the hangar is needed for aircraft storage, there is a termination clause in the license agreement, the tenant can be removed.

Subject: CAA: Mutual Help List, Commercial Activity in T-Hangars

Hello all,

I'm going to broach a subject that is near and dear to many of you.  I have a tenant in one of my T-Hangars who is also an A&P.  He used to run a business out of one our commercial hangars as a subtenant, but his landlord went with another service provider and kicked him out.

All that being said, the A&P desires to keep running his business, but it will be about six (6) months until a commercial facility is available for him here at the airport.  Consequently, our City Council is considering allowing him to run his maintenance business out of a T-Hangar until the commercial facility is available.  We have never allowed this type of activity.

Is there anyone out there that allows commercial operations in City/County-owned T-hangars and if so, under what conditions?

Any help that you can give would be greatly appreciated.
