Airport meetings scheduled
The Big Bear (CA) Grizzly

The Big Bear Airport Board of Directors meet Monday, Dec. 12, 6 p.m., for a
special meeting to view and discuss the webinar titled "Strategic Planning
for Special Districts" by Brent Ives.

The board also meets for a special meeting Wednesday, Dec. 14, 3 p.m.,
followed by its regular meeting at 4 p.m. The board of directors meets in
closed session with legal counsel to discuss negotiations with Barry Wang,
owner of the Mandarin Garden restaurant located in the airport terminal

During open session, the board will present nominations for the incoming
president and vice president of the board and the new president will appoint
standing committee members for personnel, lease, finance and airport

The board of directors will discuss and possibly approve airport manager
Pete Gwaltney's attendance at the Southwest Chapter of American Association
of Airport Executives Conference in Monterey, Calif., in January.

The board will also discuss director Gloria Greene's request to utilize the
former KBHR radio station offices as a community room, as well as possible
approval of North RV storage.

Committee and board conference reports include the airport development
committee reviewing and possibly approving a contract with Gasoline Retail
Facilities Consulting to provide fuel system compliance review and upgrade.

The finance committee reviews year-to-date financials with a possible
approval of a purchasing policy and an option for the district to pay off
the approximate $90,000 side fund obligation to CalPERS.
