Carson City airport manager quits
By Dave Frank
The Nevada Appeal
Yvon Weaver said she quit her job as the Carson City Airport manager on
Thursday but declined to give a reason for her decision.
"I'll probably have plenty to say about it in the near future," Weaver said,
referring other questions to Supervisor Richard Staub, who is a member of
the Carson City Airport Authority.
The authority owns and operates the airport, which does not have any
passenger flights.
Staub said Weaver told him Thursday morning she was quitting as airport
manager after he told her members of the authority might want to evaluate
the duties of the airport manager, though not specifically Weaver's
performance.
"I can only assume she did not care for it," Staub said. "She resigned at
the end of the conversation."
Weaver has been manager since 1994. The airport authority was created in
1989.
Weaver's husband, Neil Weaver, is a member of the airport authority. He and
other members besides Staub could not be reached for comment Thursday
afternoon.
There were two minor crashes at the airport last week.
