Accident at airport kills longtime worker
The Youngstown (OH) Vindicator

VIENNA - Employees of the Youngstown-Warren Regional Airport are mourning
the loss of a longtime worker who was killed by hangar doors Monday.

Paul Wiscott, 71, of Youngstown was killed around 9 a.m. when two hangar
doors closed in on him without warning, said Steve Bowser, director of
aviation at the airport on Youngstown-Kingsville Road.

Wiscott, who worked in line service for Winner Aviation, was performing
routine duties when the accident happened, Bowser said. The door appears to
be functioning normally, and no one had reported any problems with the door.

Airport authorities are working with the Vienna Police Department to
determine the cause of the accident.

Bowser expressed sympathy to Wiscott's family in a message he sent to The
Vindicator.

"Being a small airport, everyone knew Paul," he said. "He was a
long-standing fixture here at the Youngstown-Warren Regional Airport having
started with Beckett Aviation in 1965 then staying on with Winner Aviation.
These types of accidents affect us all. Paul will be greatly missed by
everyone, especially those in the airport community."
