Homeland Security drills planned at Truckee airport

TRUCKEE -- Homeland Security exercises featuring multiple agencies are
planned for Tuesday through Thursday at Truckee Tahoe Airport, officials
announced Friday.

Training will involve response to nuclear, chemical and/or biological
incidents and accidents. Defensive winter driving training also is planned.

Also, the airport will practice its own security-related efforts. This
includes staff training, intelligence analysis and indications, warning
systems, detection, identity reporting and reaction to an incident. Also
being practiced are securing the airport and crisis decision-making.

Participants include the California National Guard's 95th Civil Support
Team, the Truckee Fire Protection District and the California Highway
Patrol.
