Centennial Airport to get federal funds
The Denver (CO) Rocky Mountain News

Centennial Airport in Arapahoe County will receive $1.5 million in federal
funding, ending more than a decade of legal wrangling, Rep. Tom Tancredo,
R-Colo., announced Tuesday.

The money will be used to fix up taxiways and runways.

Several years ago, a small airline sued for the ability to offer scheduled
passenger flights at the airport, which is mostly used by corporate
customers.

Residents and airport officials fought the suit. Although the courts said
Centennial could ban those flights, it also said the airport would be
ineligible for federal funding.

Earlier this year, the omnibus appropriations bill included language that
lifted the funding ban.
