False pilot ID raises suspicion
By KAREN NELSON
The Biloxi (MS) Sun Herald

OCEAN SPRINGS - A man believed to be a pilot and resident of Biloxi
trying to get a pilot's license under a false name created a stir at a
doctor's office in Ocean Springs this week.

Police on Wednesday were checking into the situation at the request of
the FBI.

The man produced identification that did not look like him when he
requested an application in preparation for a flight physical at Dr. Jim
Martin's office on Hanley Road on Monday. When the receptionist began to
make a copy of the information, he offered to get a better ID out of his
car.

When he left the building, he took the application with him. The
doctor's office manager, Jennifer Gaskin, contacted the Federal Aviation
Administration because the applications are numbered for tracking
purposes and a stolen one is taken very seriously.

The whole situation was taken seriously, especially in light of Sept.
11, police said.
