Alliance FBO Named One of Best in the Nation for Fourth Consecutive Year
FORT WORTH, Texas, May 11, 2000 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- The fixed-base operation
(FBO) at Fort Worth Alliance Airport has earned ExxonMobil's Tiger Spirit
Gold Award, recognizing the facility's outstanding customer service.
The Alliance FBO has been named one of the top FBOs in the country by
ExxonMobil every year since it opened in 1996.
The honor is given based on surveys of independent pilots who visit FBOs
around the country and detailed inspections by ExxonMobil's professional
quality Assurance Team.
The Alliance FBO offers a high level of service for the passengers and
pilots of private planes, as well as military aircraft. The 55,000 square
foot FBO features a 23,000 square foot aviation/office center and a 32,000
square foot hangar. Among its amenities are a plush lounge, a pilots' room
complete with a shower and sleeping area, and a flight control room for
pilots to file flight plans and monitor weather. Twelve private jets are
housed and maintained in the facility.
The FBO is managed by Alliance Aviation Services, an operating company of
Hillwood, the developer of the 9,600-acre Alliance development that is
anchored by Fort Worth Alliance Airport.
"We're extremely proud to receive this award because it validates our top
priority of doing whatever it takes to meet the needs of the pilots,
passengers and aircraft that come here," said Tim Ward, president of
Alliance Aviation Services and Alliance Air Services. "Our entire staff
takes great pride in being the best at what we do."
Alliance Aviation Services has been able to maintain its high quality of
service despite the increased activity at the airport. Takeoffs and landings
increased from 185,000 in 1998 to 225,000 last year. During the week of the
NASCAR race at the nearby Texas Motor Speedway, Alliance Aviation Services
takes care of more than 300 aircraft and their passengers, many of whom are
drivers and sponsors.
"Tiger Spirit rewards FBOs for their customer service and quality by getting
feedback from those who use these services -- pilots," said Richard Oldham,
ExxonMobil Aviation Sales Manager. "The pilot inspection forms provide a
wealth of information to FBOs to help improve customer service, as well as
recognize employees for outstanding performance."
The Tiger Spirit Award is one of several honors that have been earned by
Fort Worth Alliance Airport entities over the past few months. In March, the
airport's flight control staff, which runs the control tower, received
national recognition from the Federal Aviation Administration with the Air
Traffic Services Award and for error-free operations since the airport
opened in 1989.
Fort Worth Alliance Airport is managed by Alliance Air Services, an
operating company of Hillwood.
