Laptop Lane Brings Fully Equipped Business Center to Orlando International
Airport -- Office-on-the-Go Provides Business Travelers 'Peace, Quiet and a
ORLANDO, Fla., Feb 15, 2001 /PRNewswire/ -- Laptop Lane Limited today
announced the opening of its newest business center, at Orlando
International Airport (MCO). Now passengers waiting for their flights can
check into one of Laptop Lane's private offices to read and respond to
e-mail, retrieve important documents from their corporate networks, get the
latest news via the Internet, make and receive phone calls, send faxes, or
put the finishing touches on a business presentation.
Located in the main terminal near the entrance to the Hyatt Regency Hotel,
the new Laptop Lane(TM) has eight ergonomically designed cubicles and a
conference room, each with a powerful desktop PC with laptop connection and
high-speed (T-1) Internet access, printer, fax machine and telephone with
multi-line teleconference capability. A cyber-concierge is available at all
times to provide technical support and help with business services from
photocopying to overnight shipping. A customer can even work on a document
at MCO and have multiple copies printed, collated and ready for pick-up at
any of Laptop Lane's 23 other airport locations.
"In 1998, nearly 22 million people flew at least once on business in the
U.S. alone," said Adrian van Haaften, CEO of Laptop Lane. "Our goal is to
give people the opportunity to be productive while they're waiting at the
airport and help take some of the stress out of business travel."
Laptop Lane is also a convenient place for meetings, maximizing productivity
and eliminating the need to find a suitable off-airport location. The
conference room at MCO's Laptop Lane can easily accommodate up to 10
travelers convening from multiple cities. All Laptop Lane conference rooms
have the same basic equipment as the workstations, as well as a projector
that can be used for presentations (at no extra charge). When it's not being
used for conferences, the room can also double as a workstation.
"Orlando is known for leisure travel, and the region is starting to emerge
as a leader for high-tech and other dynamic businesses," said Bill Jennings,
Executive Director of the Greater Orlando Aviation Authority. "So, it is
important that we work to meet the needs of the growing number of business
travelers who use the airport."
The cost to rent a cubicle is $5.00 for the first five minutes and 65 cents
for each additional minute. The conference room can be rented for $60 per
hour or $400 per day. Pricing includes use of all the equipment, including
Internet connection time, domestic long distance calling, and unlimited
self-service printing, faxing and photocopying. Additional services such as
color photocopies, collating, overnight shipping, and even catering can be
arranged by the cyber-concierge on-site.
