Oakland airport gets Regal
The East Bay (CA) Business Times
Regal Aviation has opened its latest aircraft charter dispatch base at
Oakland International Airport.
A Gulfstream III airplane owned by the firm will be stationed at the Oakland
base, while additional planes owned and managed by Regal will be added over
the next three to six months. The Dallas-based company's aircraft is used
primarily by business executives traveling throughout the United States and
to Pacific Rim countries.
David MacDonald, Regal's president, said the base was opened because of
strong demand by Bay Area companies. Founded by Oakland resident George
Zimmer, founder and president of Fremont-based Men's Wearhouse Inc. the
nationwide chain of men's apparel stores Regal already operates bases in
Dallas, Houston, Tulsa, Okla.; and Naples, Fla.
