Search begins for new Airport aviation director
By THOMAS ADAMS
The Rochester (NY) Business Journal

Monroe County Executive Maggie Brooks has begun an expedited search for a
new director of aviation for the Greater Rochester International Airport and
hopes to announce an appointment in the near future, a spokesman said
Wednesday.

Former director Susan Walsh resigned Tuesday, exactly one year after
replacing David Damelio. A formal announcement of the resignation was not
made.

Walsh was charged with misdemeanor driving while intoxicated Dec. 22
following a traffic incident in East Rochester. She was placed on
administrative leave by Brooks the next day.

Deputy Director Angela Veltre has taken over Walsh's responsibilities at the
airport.

Damelio resigned Jan. 3, 2011 following published reports that he spent
thousands of Monroe County Airport Authority dollars on cigars and adult
entertainment.
