"Airline proposes flights from Visalia to Ontario"
Tuesday, June 17, 2008
Visalia airport could offer flights to Ontario
The Visalia (CA) Times-Delta
Visalia Municipal Airport might soon offer passenger flights to and from
Ontario International Airport in Southern California - greatly enhancing air
options for Visalia-area travelers.
The idea is part of a proposal by Wyoming-based Great Lakes Airlines to
offer flights to both Ontario and McCarran International Airport out of
Visalia, documents filed with the U.S. Department of Transportation show.
Visalia's airport has been without service since Mesa Air Group's bankrupt
Air Midwest pulled out May 31.
The Visalia City Council is scheduled to discuss the Great Lakes proposal
starting at 5 p.m. today.
