Eastern States Airports to Host ASC course
Airport Security Coordinator classes scheduled in several areas
June 25, 2008 - Bradley International Airport located in Hartford, CT
June 26, 2008 - Greater Rochester International Airport located in Rochester, NY
June 30, 2008 - Sheraton Gateway Hotel located in Atlanta, GA
This one-day course is being offered to provide airport security personnel with a forum for discussing recent TSA changes and how these changes may affect security procedures at their airport. Airports find the courses a valuable resource for existing and new staff members. Several airport security departments have gone through staff changes or have grown and need to qualify additional personnel.
The TSA has stated, "having long-time ASCs and new ASCs in the same class provides an opportunity to share the wealth of knowledge accumulated by experienced ASCs." Documentation of attendance and ASC Certificates are issued to document completion of training TSAR§1542.3(c) which states. . . “no airport operator may use, nor may it designate any person as, an ASC unless that individual has completed subject matter training, as specified in its security program, to prepare the individual to assume the duties of the position.” The daylong course follows the curriculum guidelines of the TSA.
Each ASC class includes discussion on the role of DHS, threat information and the ASC responsibilities, as well as writing and maintaining a current airport security program. Participants share experiences and benchmark case studies. Several neighboring airports will attend to share their experiences and make this a rewarding experience for everyone. Register now! Registration is being held open till June 20th.
AviaEd has conducted more ASC classes for the nation’s airports than any other company. For information, visit www.AviaEd.NET and click the Courses Offered link or email Info@xxxxxxxxxx. For those unable to attend any of these sessions, contact AviaEd directly to have one scheduled at your airport.
