Oxnard airport closes briefly while suspicious package determined safe

The Oxnard airport was closed for about an hour on Monday while authorities
determined that a suspicious package left in the terminal was not dangerous,
authorities said.
Oxnard police responded about 3:42 p.m. to a report of a suspicious package
in the airport's terminal, said Cmdr. Tom Chronister.
The Ventura County Sheriff's Department Bomb Squad responded to the scene
and determined that the package an overstuffed backpack did not contain any
explosives.
No flights were effected by the closure.
