Airport concealed some details of expenses
BY JENNIFER DIXON
The Detroit (MI) Free Press
When the Wayne County Airport Authority turned over travel records for Jack
Vogel to the Free Press, it redacted, or covered up, some of the details of
his entertaining and trips, such as the time and date of car rentals, the
class of car, and miles driven.
After the Free Press questioned the omissions, the authority provided some
of the information, but refused to reveal other details, saying those were
another employee's expenses.
Free Press lawyer Herschel Fink said the authority had no basis in law to
conceal such details.
"It's outrageous that they're hiding an accounting of our money as taxpayers
from the public," Fink said.
