Skybus bringing base to Piedmont Triad airport
The Associated Press
GREENSBORO, N.C. (AP) - Skybus Airlines says it will locate a flight base at
Piedmont Triad International Airport at Greensboro. The base means more
flights from the airport and about 375 new jobs.
The discount airline now flies only to its headquarters city Columbus, Ohio,
from Greensboro. But in January the airline will begin adding flights to
Boston, Los Angeles, Fort Lauderdale and other cities.
Officials say most of the jobs will be for pilots and flight attendants with
an average salary of $46,300 plus benefits. Two planes will be based in
North Carolina.
Airbus is known for having ten seats on every flight priced at $10 one-way.
