Disney makes welcome video for Bush Airport
By Monica Perin Reporter
The Houston (TX) Business Journal

A multimedia presentation put together by Walt Disney Parks and Resorts will
debut Monday on some 30 big screens in the international terminal at George
Bush Intercontinental Airport.

The seven-minute presentation, aimed at welcoming international travelers to
the United States, is an initiative of the U.S. Department of Homeland
Security and the U.S. Department of State.

It is being unveiled simultaneously at Bush and at Washington Dulles
International Airport and soon will be rolled out at the nation's other
international airports.

In April, Intercontinental Airport was named the first "model port of entry"
by the U.S. Customs and Border Protection bureau. Since then Houston's
largest airport has implemented new explanatory videos and signage in five
languages along with other process improvements that have been replicated at
Dulles.

Disney commissioned and donated the new seven-minute, "Welcome: Portraits of
America," as part of the State Department/Homeland Security initiative,
which seeks to secure America's borders while welcoming legitimate visitors.

The film, which includes video and still shots of images featuring American
people from all regions and walks of life, will be shown in the Federal
Inspection Services Facility at Bush -- one of the largest in the nation.

Also on Monday, the film will be available for viewing online at
www.discoveramerica.com or www.travel.state.gov. after 5 p.m.
