Man jumps fence at OIA, gets arrested for trespassing
By Jim Leusner
The Orlando (FL) Sentinel
A man who jumped a runway fence at Orlando International Airport early
Friday and walked near the baggage ramp area was arrested and charged with
trespassing, police said.
Larry Lee Odums Jr., 24, whose last address was unknown, was unarmed and
appeared mentally ill, said Lt. Brian Gilliam. The Apopka-born landscaper
was arrested and sent to the Orange County Jail for evaluation. He was being
held on $500 bond.
Police said Odums was seen jumping a fence by a car rental company security
officer and was under surveillance by airport personnel until an officer
arrested him around 5 a.m. Odums said he walked down Colonial Drive, then
Semoran Boulevard to the airport, planning to catch a bus, Gilliam said.
