Schiphol Airport again in privatisation talks with Dutch government - report

AFX News

AMSTERDAM - Schiphol Airport in Amsterdam has again raised the possibility
of partial or complete privatisation with majority shareholder the Dutch
government and minority shareholders the cities of Amsterdam and Rotterdam,
newspaper De Telegraaf reported.

Schiphol chief financial officer Pieter Verboom said the airport has held
talks with the three shareholders and has been promised a response within
the next few months, the newspaper reported.

The possible privatisation of Schiphol has been hotly debated for 10 years,
but was recently blocked by Amsterdam, which feared that a stock market
float of the airport would have a negative impact on the region, the paper
said.

The Dutch government holds a 75.8 pct stake in Schiphol, while Amsterdam and
Rotterdam hold 21.8 and 2.4 pct respectively.
