"Canadian firm wins deal to build new Libyan airport"

Canada's SNC Lavalin wins 400 mln eur Libya airport construction order
TRIPOLI (Thomson Financial) - French group SNC Lavalin Nexacor has been
chosen to build an airport near the Libyan town of Benghazi at a cost of 400
mln eur, official news agency Jana reported.
The Benina airport which is estimated to be built in two years could reach a
capacity of 5 mln passengers per year.
Yesterday, the agency reported that work has begun on a new 1 bln eur
airport for the capital Tripoli which will be able to welcome 20 mln
travellers per year. The work is being carried out by a consortium of six
companies including Vinci of France, Oderbrecht of Brazil and TAV of Turkey,
under the supervision of a French research consultancy.
