Kidd resigns as Palm Springs Airport director
By KIMBERLY PIERCEALL
The Riverside (CA) Press-Enterprise
Brian Kidd, of marketing and business development for Palm Springs
International Airport, has resigned for family reasons. Kidd joined the
airport in September 2006 after working at Portland International Airport.
He plans to return to Portland with his wife and two young children and work
as a research director for a Portland-based consulting firm.
Kidd had focused on recruiting airlines and flights to the airport which
grew by 7.8 percent in terms of passengers in 2006.
"There is an air-service consultant arrangement still in place for the
airport and there will be a seamless transition to ensure that the
air-service development efforts continue," said Thomas Nolan, the executive
director of Palm Springs International Airport, in a statement.
Nolan started two weeks ago after replacing the airport's former director of
aviation, Richard Walsh. City Manager David Ready fired Walsh in April after
announcing the creation of the executive director position that would have
supervised Walsh. Walsh's position hasn't been replaced.
