FBI Checks Possible Bomb Threat At Miami Airport
WTVJ-TV Ch 6 (NBC), Miramar (FL)

MIAMI -- The FBI looked into a possible bomb threat Tuesday at Miami
International Airport.

Authorities released limited information but said they continue to increase
security at random checkpoints at the airport.

The FBI said it is investigating an unknown incident that was reported to an
undisclosed agency.

Security levels nationwide had already been heightened in the wake of the
attempted car bombings in London, the car bombing in Glasgow and in the
run-up to the Fourth of July holiday.

Miami International Airport and the Fort Lauderdale/Hollywood International
Airport will both experience elevated security levels during the holiday.

Miami-Dade County police said they are working with the FBI at the airport
on the report and they will remain vigilant.

Authorities asked passengers and employees at the airport to remain
vigilant, as well, and report any suspicious activity.
