The five terrorist suspects arrested after Saturday's fiery attack on Glasgow Airport are not British, broadcasters reported late on Sunday, citing police sources.

BBC television reported that the suspects in custody are believed to be of Middle Eastern origin.

Some witnesses to Saturday's attempted car bombing at the Glasgow terminal building had initially described the two men arrested at the scene as possibly ethnic Asian. One of the airport suspects is hospitalised with severe burns.

Two more men and a woman were arrested at other locations overnight in connection with the airport attack and the undetonated car bombs discovered on Friday in London. Police believe the London and Glasgow incidents are linked.

A sixth suspect is reportedly still being sought by British authorities, the BBC and Sky News both reported.
