ATLANTA - An airplane was evacuated shortly after landing at
Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport on Monday morning because
of fumes in the cabin, an airline spokeswoman said.
The passengers were bused from the runway to the airport terminal after the
evacuation of Atlantic Southeast Airlines flight 4145 from Gainesville,
Fla., around 9:15 a.m., airline spokeswoman Kate Modolo said.
No one was injured in the incident, she said.
The pilot detected the fumes while the plane was still in the air and landed
the aircraft without incident, she said. The plane was carrying 44
passengers and three crew members, she said.
The aircraft is being inspected to determine the cause of the fumes, Modolo
said.
