ACI launches airport diploma programme

By ArabianBusiness.com

Airport education: ACI offers a new management diploma.

Airports Council International (ACI) has launched an international accreditation programme for airport managers, in partnership with the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO).

The Airport Management Professional Accreditation Programme is a three-year diploma, which is designed to provide expert knowledge in the field of airport management.

The course includes a variety of online modules, which allow students to continue working in their home airports. After completing the programme, each student receives a special IAP (International Airport Professional) certificate, which will be recognised throughout the world.

Today's airport operators are under pressure to achieve greater efficiencies while ensuring full adherence to the international standards that are the hallmark of commercial aviation," said Robert Aaronson, ACI's director general.

"They must deal with a diverse range of business and operational requirements related to capacity constraints, safety, increased security threats, the logistics of new technologies and new airport business models involving investment from the private sector. This global initiative targets the need for indepth management expertise in all nations and gives professional recognition to those who succeed in completing the entire programme," he added.
