OIA is talk of airport cops at summit
The Orlando (FL) Sentinel
First it was the love-sick astronaut, then the alleged gun-smuggling airline
workers, followed by the mystery of how sensitive security documents ended
up in an airport dumpster. Those incidents -- all big news this year --
raised the profile of Orlando International Airport at the annual meeting of
aviation law enforcement agencies in Dallas this week. But the group was
probably more interested in OIA's decision to begin screening airport
employees whenever they enter a secure area. The Airport Law Enforcement
Agency Network considers the policy excessive and instead favors random
checks.
