Brazil, Controllers Reach Accord to End Protests, Globo Says
By Romina Nicaretta
Bloomberg
Brazil reached an agreement with air traffic controllers to end protests
that forced the country to shut airports nationwide, Globo Online reported.
The government and controllers agreed on a plan to use civil air traffic
controllers and reduce the air force's control over the skies, Globo said,
citing Normando Cavalcanti, a lawyer representing the controllers.
Brazil suspended all takeoffs at the country's 67 airports last night after
protests backed up traffic and threatened the safety of travelers.
