Hijack warning puts airports on alert
Indo-Asian News Service

New Delhi - India on Saturday sounded a terror alert at airports across the
country after an Intelligence Bureau report warning that a Pakistan-based
terrorist outfit could hijack an aircraft to demand clemency for Mohammad
Afzal, sentenced to death for the 2001 attack on the Parliament.

Security was beefed up at all airports after the Intelligence Bureau letter
to the Directorate of Civil Aviation and airport security is informing them
that a terrorist group from Pakistan was planning to hijack a plane and take
it to Bangladesh, Bureau sources said.

However, there is no specific information on which airport or which airline
could be targeted.
