Hoosiers Invited to Sign Part of New Airport Terminal
WISH-TV Ch 8 (CBS), Indianapolis (IN)
With the stroke of a pen Hoosiers will be able to see their name on
permanent display in the new Indianapolis airport.
That is what kids at Ernie Pyle Elementary school were doing Friday morning.
Architectural steel beams will be placed in the new terminal sometime next
year. The airport authority is inviting the community to add their names to
the beams.
The kids liked the idea.
"I thought it was kind of cool because we can be on TV because of the new
airport," said Katia Lopez.
"It's fun because a lot of people will see it," said Sammy Turner.
People are invited to sign the beams at nine different events. The first was
Friday morning at 10:00 at Ernie Pyle Elementary. There are two other
signings Friday: at 12:45 p.m. at Northwest High School, located at 5525 W.
34th St. and at 6:00 p.m. at Decatur Central High School at State Road 67
south of I-465.
