DFW Airport hopes Wright Amendment deal brings new airlines
The Associated Press

GRAPEVINE, Texas - Officials at Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport hope
to attract new carriers within the next 12 months.

This follows Congress' approval of legislation to maintain restrictions on
flights at nearby Dallas Love Field for the next eight years.

D/FW's chief executive Jeff Fegan says other carriers now "have a better
understanding of the certainties at Love Field and the opportunities at
D/FW."

The bill would remove the threat that Dallas-based Southwest Airlines could
expand long-distance flying from Love Field until 2014.

D/FW has offered incentives for carriers to fill empty gates at the big
airport. But some carriers have said they were not interested.
