Busy Weekend At OIA
Central Florida News 13, Orlando (FL)
About four million people throughout the country are expected to take to the
skies to enjoy the long Memorial Day weekend.
Orlando International Airport will be one of the busiest airports in the
country. Airport officials say Saturday is traditionally the busiest day of
the weekend with an estimated 60,000 people departing.
On a typical day, it is about 47,000 fliers.
Security officials have plans in place to head off the long lines.
The people we spoke to at the airport told us things were running smoothly.
"So far we've had no problems at all," Vicki Kirby said. "Came in this
morning, unloaded our luggage and off we go."
Officials at OIA say Monday is going to be another busy day at the airport
with more than 59,000 departures expected.
