Passenger volume at MIA up 11 percent
The Miami (FL) Herald
Passenger volume at Miami International Airport rose 11 percent in April
compared to the same month last year, continuing a six-month upward trend
for the airport, according to figure released by Miami-Dade Aviation
Department.
MIA's growth in passengers so far this year has exceeded 2005 by 5.4
percent. Year to date, 11.2 million passengers have traveled through the
airport, compared to last year's 10.7 million during the same period.
Total passenger figures for April rose to 2.8 million this year, from 2.6
million in 2005. Domestic travelers increased 12.1 percent to 1.6 million
from 1.4 million, while international passengers rose 10.1 percent from 1.1
million to 1.2 million.
