SACRAMENTO INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT AND AIR-TRANSPORT IT SERVICES, INC.
ANNOUNCES THAT JETBLUE JOINS ALOHA AIRLINES
ON THE AIRPORT COMMON USE PASSENGER PROCESSING SYSTEM
Press Release

Sacramento, CA - Sacramento International Airport (SMF) and Air-
Transport IT Services, Inc. (AirIT), a key provider of diversified
information technology
products and services to the air transportation industry, today announced
that JetBlue
Airlines began operations and has joined Aloha Airlines on the airport
provided common
use passenger processing system. EASET, Extended Airline System Environment,
is a
new and innovative technology that allows multiple carriers to efficiently
process
passengers utilizing common or shared hardware and network infrastructure
provided by
the airport. Typically, airports assign or lease ticket counters and gates
exclusively to
one carrier whether that carrier utilizes them once or 10 times a day. The
significance of
this advancement enables the airport to dynamically assign Ticket Counter
and Boarding
Gate resources to those air carriers as they need them. The flexible
assignment of these
resources allows the airport to optimize utilization by allowing Aloha and
JetBlue to
share the counters and gates during different times throughout the day. And
unlike
traditional Common Use platforms, EASET allows the carriers to operate and
process
passengers within their own point of sale and back office software
applications.

"We're very excited and proud that the Sacramento International Airport
chose EASET
as their common use platform. EASET will allow the airport to more
effectively
manage and optimize their brick and mortar investment by handling more
operational
activity without having to build another gate or ticket counter.
Additionally, the
technology will enable SMF to attract more carriers by eliminating the
upfront
investment carriers inevitably incur when moving into a new market" said
Chris Keller,
Executive Vice President and CSO of AirIT.

Steve Elrod, Deputy Director of Information Technology and
Telecommunications, states
that "EASE allows the airport to efficiently manage both the expected growth
in carriers
and the growth in new city pairs. Technology is central to our success here
in
Sacramento and we are pleased that two of our airline partners have
recognized the
benefits of the system and are operating with in this new environment."

Further benefit is derived from the decrease in the airlines operating cost
at SMF by
eliminating the cost to deploy their own systems as well as leveraging the
airports on-site
maintenance and support system. "JetBlue Airways believes that Sacramento
Airport's
common use EASET system is well named! This system allows airlines that are
concerned with delivering superior customer service to hit the ground
running, assisted
with easy access to their own independent tech systems from several
locations within the
terminal. Not only does the common use system help us deliver our signature
"JetBlue
Experience" by its simplicity, but it is also well maintained by a
conscientious staff of
detail-minded Air IT and airport personnel, making it a great product on its
own right.
It's a great product that assists us in our on-going efforts to deliver a
great air-travel
experience to the public!" says Rudy Lucero, General Manager for JetBlue
Airways.
