Director of Peoria Airport resigns

PEORIA, Ill. The Greater Peoria Regional Airport Authority chairman Dean
Heinzmann (HYNTZ'-man) says the airport's director Solomon Balraj
(BALL'-rahj) has resigned.

Balraj's resignation is effective immediately. Heinzmann says he resigned to
pursue other interests.

Airport officials say they will conduct a national search for his
replacement, and Mary DeVries, the director of business administration, will
serve as interim director.

Balraj came to Peoria in 2002. Previously, he was an airport official in
Cleveland.
