Italy ups airport alert level after London blasts

MILAN, (Reuters) - Italy's civil aviation authority has placed all Italian
airports on maximum alert as a precautionary measure after a series of
blasts hit London's transport network on Thursday.

"Following the explosions in London this morning, the National Agency for
Civil Aviation (ENAC) has immediately ordered all airports to raise the
alert level to a maximum," the authority said in a statement.

A spokesman for Italy's Interior Ministry said a special anti-terrorism
committee, formed by different police units, was meeting to decide on
possible security measures.
