Press Release
Washington - Dr. Tatyana G. Anodina, Chair of the Russian Interstate

announced today. The conference, co-hosted by the Civil Aviation

The theme of this year's conference is "Expanding the Global Aviation
Network: Shanghai - Where East Meets West." Joining Administrator Blakey
and Dr. Anodina as a featured speaker is Nicole Piasecki Executive Vice
President, Business Strategy & Marketing, for Boeing Commercial Airplanes
and the daughter of helicopter pioneer Frank Piasecki.
"With the addition of Dr. Anodina we are well on our way toward featuring
one of the most impressive roster of speakers of women in aviation ever
assembled for an international conference," Young said. "The venue of
exciting Shanghai, which pays tribute to China's emergence as one of the
world's biggest aviation markets, is a fitting locale for such a
high-ranking group of women aviation executives," she said.

University of Civil Aviation, heads an aviation agency formed in 1991, with
the republics of Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Georgia, Kazakhstan,
Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, the Russian Federation, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan,
Uzbekistan and the Ukraine as initial members. Among other things, her
agency is responsible for aircraft design approvals, and airworthiness and
production certification.
In 1997, Dr. Anodina was selected as the 31st Edward Warner Award, the
highest honour in the world of civil aviation conferred by the Council of
the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), in recognition of
contributions to the development of national, regional and global air
navigation aids for international civil aviation. Edward Warner was the
first President of the Council of ICAO, from 1945 to 1957.
The International Aviation Womens Association is a not-for-profit
