Hacker breaks into Erie airport's Web site
The Associated Press

ERIE, Pa. (AP) - Someone has hacked into Erie International Airport's Web
site three times in the last year, including once this week, officials said.

Authorities said users visiting the Web site Tuesday night or Wednesday
morning may have seen a message from someone calling himself or herself the
"Turkish Hacker." Among other things, the message said "Best regards to the
world."

The hacker did not gain access to any private airport information, such as
accounting, payroll or records, said Larry Reymore of Office Machines Sales
& Service, which supplies, maintains and runs virus protection on airport
computer hardware.

Officials from the airport, its Internet provider, Surf Erie, and CyberInk
Inc., which produced and maintains the Web site, are investigating the
incident, Reymore said.

"It turned out to be a lot of inconvenience to the airport ... but as these
problems go, this was hardly even a fender bender," he said.

Investigators think the hacker is from northern Germany and is using a
computer server somewhere in China, Reymore said.

The Web site usually provides travelers with flight and ticket information.
