Garden City airport director accused of harassment, threats
The Associated Press
GARDEN CITY, Kan. - The director of the Garden City Regional Airport was
suspended indefinitely without pay after being accused of making harassing
phone calls to several women and threatening two of them.
Ron Hall, 36, was arrested Thursday at the City Administration Building. He
made his first court appearance Friday morning and remained in the Finney
County Jail on $50,000 bond. His next hearing is scheduled for March 10.
Hall is charged with three counts of felony criminal threat, one count of
criminal trespassing, 40 counts of harassment by telephone and one count of
sexual battery, all misdemeanors.
Police Capt. Mike Utz said the investigation began Sunday when two Garden
City women told police they'd each been harassed by Hall numerous times over
the telephone on Saturday night and early Sunday morning.
Utz also said another woman who dated Hall for about five months allegedly
was threatened by him in December, and that last month she found him waiting
for her in her home - although he later left at her request.
Earlier this month, Utz said, Hall allegedly threatened the woman to one of
her friends.
Utz said another woman who knew Hall but did not date him described several
harassing calls this month, one communicating a threat of bodily harm, and
still another woman said Hall touched her chest without permission at a
restaurant last April.
Hall became the city airport director in September 2003.
