Airport slammed over Airbus proposal
New Zealand - NZ City

Auckland International Airports plan to charge all airlines for Airbus
facilities does not please Air New Zealand

Air New Zealand says it has no intention of subsidising competitors flying
Airbuses to Auckland Airport.

The airline says the idea was floated by a senior airport executive during a
briefing this morning.

Reporters were told the airport would be looking to recover costs associated
with the Airbuses from all carriers, including Air New Zealand.

The airline's chief executive Ralph Norris is surprised and dismayed by the
comments.

He says to make Air New Zealand pay for facilities it has no intention of
using is nothing short of greed - and the behaviour of an unconstrained
monopolist.
