5 Bidders Confirm Interest in Bulgarian Airport Concession
Bulgaria - Sofia News Agency

All five candidates, which were shortlisted last December as bidders in the
tender to run and modernize the airports in Bulgaria's coastal cities of
Varna and Burgas, have confirmed their further participation in the
procedure, local Pari Daily reported.

The five companies included a German-Bulgarian consortium between Hochtief
Airport GmbH and Albena, tie-in between German airport operator Fraport AG
Frankfurt Airport Services Worldwide and Bulgaria's BM Star, Copenhagen
Airports A/S, French Vinci Airports together with Vinci Concessions and the
consortium between Kuwait's Mohammed Abdulmohsin Al-Kharafi and Sons and
Aeroports de Paris.

The five companies have to present their final offers by March 7, 2005.

Experts tip the two German consortia and the Kuwaiti-French tie-in as the
most likely winner in the tender.

Concession contracts are expected to be inked in 2005 before the start of
the busy summer season. The 35-year contract will have an option for a
15-year extension.
